Message from DMIHER Dignitaries

Hon'ble Chancellor Sir’s Message

Hon'ble Shri Dattaji Meghe

Chancellor DMIHER (DU) Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha

Hope is indeed a waking dream! Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital (AVBRH) is my one such actualized dream envisioned towards transforming lives by delivering affordable and accessible health care. The pursuit towards achieving this very purpose, to serve the poor and needy and rightly so, has led my most dedicated health care team to painstakingly provide vistas in health care in all essential, vital and emerging areas. Whilst doing so, the efforts were always directed to make services available that are nothing but the best. One humble step in this direction is the launch of Siddharth Gupta Memorial Cancer Hospital, AVBRH, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha, which will serve as a beacon of light for the convalescent. The state of art Siddharth Memorial Cancer Hospital, AVBRH, Sawangi (Meghe), with its team of highly proficient doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, will provide for the entire spectrum of treatment in oncology, post-treatment rehabilitation, counselling and consultations at a very affordable cost, under one roof. Through this initiative, we also envision creating a conscious awareness of cancer prevention, rehabilitation and lifestyle modification in the community. We hope to eradicate the notion that regards cancer as a ‘terminal illness’ and rather be considered as any other passing illness that is completely curable with a good quality of life.

It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction to note that the Siddharth Gupta Memorial Cancer Hospital is scheduled to be inaugurated on 13th February 2022.

It is heartening to note that it would be a 120 bedded hospital exclusively dedicated to cancer cure with radiation, medical and surgical oncology facility of state-of-art.

This would go a long way in mitigating and fulfilling the felt need and requirements of the population at large in the vital domain of oncological care. Frankly speaking the level of care and cure open and available to the suffering population in our country is abysmally poor and needs warranted update in the larger interest of cater of our country. However, the required initiatives on the said count are scanty.

It is in this backdrop the initiative turns out to be laudable whereat the class facilities would be extended to the needy at an affordable cost which would need an extension of genuine and meaningful service. Frankly speaking 'Right to Care ought to mean Right to quality care, this initiative in my opinion is bound to go a long way in filling this acute felt need of the people hugely and substantially.

I wish the hospital and the managing team thereto all success.

Non-communicable diseases including malignancy have emerged as a major public health problem in India. Even the global burden of cancer continues to rise unabatedly, more so because of improved life expectancy and lifestyle disorders. An emergent need is to establish comprehensive cancer centers in community hospitals or within academic health Institutes. This problem multiplies manifold when it comes to rural settings wherein facility for cancer diagnosis and treatment is sparse. To address this need, aligned to the mission of our healthcare Institute to cater to rural populace, we are delighted to launch late Siddharth Memorial Cancer centre, AVBRH, Sawangi(M), Wardha , which will offer affordable, timely and quality care to cancer patients and play a leadership role in developing and promoting cancer treatment guidelines locally and Nationally.

This cancer centre will not only treat a patient but also nurture optimism and trust with a strong emphasis that cancer cannot shatter hope , cannot corrode faith, cannot conquer the spirit and that human mind can overcome any disease. I strongly believe that this venture, with its sole intention to serve mankind, proves to be a boon to the much needy population, providing timely health care and longitudinal support for improving the quality of life in cancer survivors

Cancer can cause a major impact on many people and families across the globe. A patient, who suffers from cancer, fights for life and is not just the one, but the entire family and near and dear ones face a devastating turmoil which is difficult to overcome and find optimism to keep oneself going. As the entire world is fighting against cancer, it is involved in finding innovative modalities of treatments through new and better options than those currently available. The demand for cancer care is increasing rapidly worldwide, especially in developing nations like India. Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital is launching the facility of Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology under one roof with the launch of Siddharth Memorial Cancer Hospital, AVBRH, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha on 13th February 2022, which is a stepping stone towards comprehensive cancer care in this region.

It is a comprehensive care centre that will cater for the needs of all patients in and around the region and being a state of an art centre, services provided under this will cover the entire disease spectrum required for cancer care. It is inclusive of clinical care, OPD, IPD, pharmacy and complete cancer care through a multidisciplinary tumour board.

Not all cancers are curable and thus it will cater not only curative but preventive aspects from doorstep to community and back through screening, awareness, consultation, counselling and rehabilitation services encompassing complete care is covered under one roof. Palliative care, which remains the mainstay of treatment for terminally ill patients and aims at improving quality of life will also be served. Thus we look forward to providing best in class facilities under the centre with utmost love, affection, care and compassion.
